The Lights are On, But...

...nobody's home.

Late last week, I sent out several emails regarding the upcoming Senate Hearing scheduled for tomorrow to consider the nominations for the DCNR and DEP Secretaries.

Here are two responses:

Dear Mr. Williams:

In response to your question, the hearing to consider the nominations of Ellen Ferretti and Christopher Abruzzo will be held on Wednesday, December 4th at 10am in Hearing Room #1 of the North Office Building.  The hearing is open to the public, however, comments from the public are not entertained during the hearing.  You can submit written comments to the committee.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

And the other:

Don, it is a public meeting, but testimony is not taken from the public.  Typically nominees offer an opening statement and then answer questions from committee members.

If you have questions for the candidate, one route to take is to give it to a member of the committee.

Hope that helps!

**************

My thanks to both gentlemen for taking the time to respond.

So there you have it, folks. Considering all that is going on in our Commonwealth, and the ongoing/growing threat posed by the natural gas industry, when it comes to a PUBLIC HEARING to consider Tom Corbett's hand-picked nominees for what are arguably the two most important government roles in protecting PA's natural resources..."comments from the public are not entertained."

Over the last few minutes, I checked five websites of what many ( not me ) consider to be the "leading" anti-drilling coalitions out there. I spent quite a bit of time scanning each site.

I could not find one mention of tomorrow's hearings.

Nothing!

The more I look around for someone to join, the less I see.

No surprises here.
