Yet another Wyoming Valley RiverFest is only a month away.
With one absence to attend my daughter's high school graduation in 2005, I've participated in every RiverFest since the first kayak/canoe trip from West Pittston to Wilkes-Barre was held in 2001. My son and I are in the pic below.
Although my rehab is still on track, the likelihood of my participation this year is currently hovering at 50/50.
However, should you see a reddish-orange hi-tech modular kayak on the Susquehanna on Saturday, June 22nd with three paddlers onboard, you'll know I made it.
Hopefully, those surprisingly flimsy black strap thingies will hold this 4-section kayak together at the infamous Knox Mine Whirlpool...
Hi, I've been looking for weeks to find out the offical date of the 2013 riverfest and was wondering how you found it. I did see the date on a vendor listing, but wasn't sure if that was correct. So it is for sure on June 22nd?

ReplyDeleteYes...RiverFest 2013 is scheduled for 6/21, 22 & 23rd. Saturday the 22nd is probably the best day to attend. Check out the link at the top of this post.

ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. Not sure who the smiling young lad in the foreground is. My son is behind him in the greenish garb with the orange hat facing downstream. He was 10 at the time, and is a senior in college right now.
