I received the following via email late yesterday afternoon:
The Lackawanna TU website can be viewed here.
A quick check of local "mainstream" media sites this morning found nothing about this event.
The Lackawanna River is one of the largest tributaries on the north branch of the Susquehanna. For those that have paddled past the spot where the Lacky enters the Susquehanna, you know it's not a pretty sight. However, well upstream of the Old Forge Borehole, the Lackawanna is an excellent trout fishery. If there was a major fish kill, I hope the PFBC and others quickly determine the cause/culprit and not only fine them heavily, but also make them a significant financial participant in the ongoing efforts to restore and protect this once pristine stream.
Another day, another contaminated PA waterway.
When will it stop?
