Last week, the EPA had a hearing in Philadelphia about potential hydrofracking in the Delaware watershed. That's a great start...but what about the Susquehanna, where it's happening right now?
PA Watersheds
As you can see, the Susquehanna is the largest watershed in Pennsylvania. It's over three times larger than the Delaware's watershed. Yet for some reason, it's being relegated to the corner. The back seat. The bench.
From this river advocate's perspective, considering the fact that the Susquehanna contributes half of the fresh water to the Chesapeake Bay and is one of the best smallmouth rivers on the planet, we are nothing short of numero UNO!
Tomorrow, we will join others who have started an e-mail campaign to get EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson to hold a hearing on PA's largest and most threatened river - the mighty, majestic Susquehanna.
I hope you'll join us.
