Peaceful Valley Road...no more

As expected, the Lehman Township ( Luzerne County PA USA ) supervisors, awash in conflicts of interest, approved an ordinance that will allow drilling along Rte. 118. Read more about it here and here.

In reading the articles, a comment referencing civil disobedience attributed to Solicitor Jack Haley caught my attention. For the record, Jack, civil disobedience is defined as:

"the active refusal to obey certain laws, demands and commands of a government, or of an occupying international power, using no form of violence." What, exactly, would be wrong with that, Jack? Truth is, we need more Ghandis in the world, and less folks unwilling to stand up and do the right thing...like your township's supervisors.

Based upon what I know, this is far from over. In the meantime, welcome to the next great exploitation of Luzerne County's natural resources...thanks to Messrs. Iwanowski, Ide and Sutton.

In case you can't recall the outcome of Round I...here are a few reminders:

Strap in, folks.

  1. But this is so convenient! Now I don't have to travel all the way to Dimock to see the marvels of gas drilling firsthand. This is much closer!
