For those that haven't yet made the connection, and for those that recently asked, "Weminiscing" is simply a play on words. Pennsylvania's watersheds contain the largest number of Native American place names in the country...perhaps on the planet. Wyalusing, Wyomissing, Wysox, Wyoming...you get the picture.
Anyway, with RiverFest 2010 less than two months away, I decided to dredge up some pics from years gone by. As long as no natural gas drilling companies sponsor this year's event, I plan to be there. My paddling partner for the last decade has been the Blogfather himself, Mark Cour. From what I'm hearing, we'll possibly be joined by a grandson and a nephew this time around.
I offer an open invitation to all fellow NEPA bloggers to join us. Seriously...it's a great day on the river, and you'll get to meet all the regulars and pass by such sights as Campbell's Ledge, the crumbling RR bridge at Coxton Yards, the Butler Mine Tunnel, the legendary island home of Chief Mucka-Mucka, and my favorite; the site of the Knox Mine whirlpool. Plus...with all the focus on this election year, you'll get to write about all the local politicos that don't participate in or support the biggest annual paddling event in the Wyoming Valley.
Without further delay...
