EnCana's solution to a problem...make it BIGGER

+++

You've gotta love these folks.

Seems one of Encana's natural gas processing plants is emitting some pretty foul smelling stuff, and enough of it to cause citizens in a town over 6 miles away to complain. And take action.

Of course, instead of being a good neighbor and adding some type of high-tech filter or scrubbing device, EnCana takes the easy way out to resolving the problem: they'll just build a taller smokestack.
Unbelievable. Read the rest for yourself here and here.

Now...EnCana is based in Canada. The folks being impacted are Canadians...and this is how EnCana treats their own?  Imagine what they'll do to folks in an area - like Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, USA - where they have no roots?

I spent my youth traipsing all over the Wyoming Valley...from ridge to ridge. I've hiked from White Rock and Buttermilk Falls on the west side to Indian Chair and the Tubs on the eastern ridge. I know the area pretty well, and I know the strength and resolve of its people. They aren't going to remain quiet much longer.

And tough? The folks living in the hollers deep in the Back Mountain are among the hardiest souls on this planet. Need proof? Scroll down a little and get a load of my Uncle Ulysses gathering some ice for last weekend's anti-fracking wine and cheese fundraiser in Trucksville.

Have a good weekend, folks.
