Leroy-Franklindale: Still a Problem

I find it both interesting and puzzling that this post from May 2012 about the problems in the Leroy-Franklindale area has seen an incredible spike in traffic over the past week or so.

Anyway, I'm still getting calls - as recently as yesterday - about problems folks are having with their water along Rte. 414 in Bradford County, PA. And I'm being told the DEP and others have basically been of no help.

So...it's approaching two years since the problem along Rte. 414 began to get the attention of the scientific community and others. And in those two years, how much has been resolved?

 

If this happened in my backyard, which it eventually might should the South Newark Basin formation be exploited/fracked in the years ahead...I would have been on CNN by now. Not because I want to be there...but because of what I would do in the event the DEP and responsible parties tried to bury or ignore the issue.

 

Simply asked...is looking the other way worth it?
