Thirty-seven years ago, in June 1975, I took a 700+ mile bike ride from Wilkes-Barre, PA to Kittery Point, ME. Our ultimate destination was Nova Scotia. Unfortunately, after multiple bike repairs, I ran out of money and had just enough cash left to buy a bus ticket to Wilkes-Barre from Portsmouth, NH.
Another story for another day.
Another story for another day.
Fast forward almost four decades...while spending this past pre-4th of July weekend visiting my daughter in Boston, our agenda included a trip to Maine for some seaside lobster and a walk along the rocky coastline in Reid State Park. On our way back, we took a detour off Rte. 95 to Kittery Point in an attempt to find the WWII bunkers we pitched our tents in so many years ago. The local parks were all closed when we arrived, but I was there...again, which was all that mattered to me.
Another circle completed.
Here are a few pics from that weekend.
