Susquehanna Documentary: The River Twice

To all:

Please consider contacting and helping these folks in any way you can.

Thanks.

The River Twice, a documentary film project taking place in June 2011, is seeking volunteers along the North Branch of the Susquehanna River.

For the past few years a group of friends has been floating on this section of the river in hand-made boats and rafts. We have camped on islands, listened to amazing stories from people we've met, and witnessed some of the changes this area has undergone in the natural gas fracking boom. This June, we will set sail near Binghamton, NY, and float downstream for a month.

We are seeking folks with stories about this river and the surrounding area that they'd like to share as part of this project. We're interested in your take on the best bait for fishing in Wyalusing, anecdotes about a memorable riverside farm or business, local folklore and family histories, and personal statements or observations related to shale gas drilling.

We are also in need of a general support network near the river in Tioga, Bradford, Wyoming, Susquehanna, Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties — people we could contact in case of emergency, or for lesser needs like one-time phone or internet access or a ride to a hardware store to make repairs.

If you are interested in being part of this project or providing support, please e-mail therivertwice@gmail.com or call Cecily at (215) 900-3982.

More information on The River Twice will gladly be provided upon request. Thank you!
