Too Tired to Be Creative

Well over a year ago, I set up a page (?) on facebook at the request of some former college classmates who were planning a reunion. I think I've been back once or twice since then.

I never quite understood the attraction or the power of that social networking site...until yesterday. I blew through all previous one-day traffic records for this blog, and most of the new visitors were referred through some feature of facebook that I still haven't figured out. And I'd be remiss if I didn't comment that most seemed to be, ummm, facing while at work.

Anyway, the word on Gas Stock is definitely out, and I once again ask that everyone try to support this event in any way you can. I am not in any way affiliated with these folks, but it's a great idea for an even greater cause and it's about time we massed together as one to save PA from the onslaught of BIG OIL; something our elected "leaders" seem unable or unwilling to do.

I'm thinking of doing a 13 mile walk from the Susquehanna River @ Nesbitt Park to the Luzerne County Fairgrounds beginning at sunrise on 8/21 to raise awareness and funds for the event. I need a catchy ( but brief and to the point ) name for my walk...and am offering two free "Don't Tread on Me" T-shirts to the best idea submitted & selected.

Walking for Change. Walking for Our Waters. You get the idea.

  1. Facebook is just another tool to promote our blogs and it works.

As far a slogan I thought of some of my fundy friends.

Jesus could walk on water but he can't walk on gas.

  2. It's true - you've been getting a lot of play in several FB groups. Your map of stream levels that shows it only rains where there is no gas (wink wink nudge nudge) is getting "shared" all over the place. Kudos!
