FINALLY - Notice of Intent to Sue PA (Updated)

Our Commonwealth's Constitution contains the following:

Sec. 27. Natural Resources and the Public Estate

The people have a right to clean air, pure water, and to the preservation of the natural, scenic, historic and esthetic values of the environment. Pennsylvania's public natural resources are the common property of all the people, including generations yet to come. As trustee of these resources, the Commonwealth shall conserve and maintain them for the benefit of all the people.
Finally, someone has recognized that what Governor Rendell and others are allowing to happen to our streams and state forests ( a.k.a. public land ) is a violation of these rights. A notice of intent to sue has been filed. Read more about it here.

It's about time.

Postscript:

I would be remiss if I did not include a link to the latest CBF article about the DEP's failure to protect our streams and rivers. XTO should be fined $25K per well per day until they stop drilling in floodplains...period! The picture credit ( with a link ) was once again given to SRS.

PPS:

A longtime follower sent me a link to this article on Sunday morning. It supports what I have been saying for well over a year. How many experts have to weigh in on this issue before it really sinks in with our elected "leaders", the DEP and SRBC, and anyone else who has a role in approving permits to facilitate BIG OIL'S destruction of our watershed? Water under pressure follows the path of least resistance, regardless of viscosity, density or any other diversionary pseudo-science fairytale BIG OIL and their spokespersons dream up.

  1. Don, You are doing great work. I want to buy a tee shirt when they become available. Your dad looks like a spirited man. Love the fact that CBF used your photo (thanks for being on the scene). I have been working intense catering over the past week and much of my free time has been consumed by organizational matters. Therefore, not much time to post with this molasses computer. I think I am going to post the entire Howarth article on FrackM. Herb
