In the Words of the Renegade

Above/Below: Moonset & Sunrise on 28 March 2013

Folks, after getting an email late yesterday regarding the "behind closed doors" meeting scheduled by the DCNR for April 4th, I had a rather restless night and was up well before sunrise this morning.

When I looked out our windows and scanned the eastern & western horizons, I decided to grab my jacket, camera & tripod and head outside to get a few pics of what I hoped would be a glorious early spring sunrise.

I was not disappointed. I was, however, sufficiently chilled by the time I was through.

Once I came inside, my next agenda item ( after coffee ) was to put together a post about the DCNR's upcoming April 4th meeting, and I was about 85% complete when I decided to preview my work for spelling, spacing and the like. That's when I first spied Renegade's post on my blogroll covering the same subject.

I stopped to check out what he had to say, and came to an abrupt halt when I read this:

"It seems just about everyone who works for Tom Corbett's administration has learned and perfected the fine art of bending over, keeping a smile on their face, and flipping the bird to the citizens of Pennsylvania as they allow the gas industry pigs to rape our environment and contaminate it for countless generations to follow while laughing all the way to the bank."

You can read the rest at Fracking Underground.

In those ~sixty-three words, the reclusive Renegade - who claims to be a longtime and now retired employee of our commonwealth - had summed up my thoughts so succinctly that I scrapped most of my post and infused/stole/borrowed the quote above from his.

I hope all the fracktivists out there clamoring for their 15 minutes of "fame" or online donations make the DCNR's April 4th meeting one to remember. Wanna make a powerful statement?: That would be an exceptionally opportune time and place.

And to the Renegade: if you are truly retired...

Time's a wasting - get busier!
