Yep, I was one of those lunatics who stayed awake to see the moon's eclipse this morning.
The last time a lunar eclipse occurred on the winter solstice was in 1638. The next will be on 12/21/2094.
I won't be around for that one, and neither will my kids...unless they are all over 100.
The Susquehannock still roamed the valleys and hills of PA in 1638. We tread on their dust today. The span of time between us is only a fleeting instant in the cycles of the celestial realm.
On this winter solstice, then and now, we breathed as one.
