Exxon Valdez II

Yet another Marcellus Shale related spill in the Susquehanna watershed.

This time, some 13,000 gallons - at least that's the current estimate - of highly toxic fracking fluid leaked out of a holding tank. More details here.

Incredibly, one of the multiple online articles hinted at possible sabotage, since no one was at the site when the DEP employee discovered the leaking tank. This is what the NG industry does best; blame someone else.

A quote from one of the articles:

"Initial field meter readings showed elevated levels of conductivity and salinity in the spring and unnamed tributary," Spadoni said. "Elevated levels of both are indications that spilled fracking fluid is present."

Day by day, incident by incident, this continues to get uglier.

  1. The notion that this is sabotage defies all logic. Why would a green activist harm a defenseless creek? There is no upside. They are looking for scapegoats. Could be a self-inflicted wound...

Bad stuff is happening all over and this is the best they can do? It betrays their CYA management style.
