Journey's End...and New Beginnings.

Looks like the seemingly never-ending project of cleaning out my father's home is coming to an end.

Right now the deal is on a handshake, but if all goes well, we will be selling the home that has been in our family for ~87 years.

The journey over the past two years has been beyond anything I could have scripted, and it's time to move on.

'Nuff said.

All of the above are between 40 and 45 years old. One went in the dumpster (kept the emblem for future use), and one will be put away for now.

Yesterday was a good day. We spent several hours donating furniture and other items, filled up another Bagster with stuff from the basement, did the cemetery circuit, had incredible seafood at King Neptune in Dallas, stopped for milk & a sweet finish at Hillside Farms...and made it home as the sun was setting.

No sunrise for this pup this morning...slept in 3 hours past my normal 4a start time.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  1. Your story about your fathers house brought back memories. Cleaned out and sold my fathers house in 1998 and my father-in-laws house in 2011.
Then I realized that I was now the patriarch...the old man so to speak. My house would be next. It is a humbling experience. Hope it all goes well.

    1. Good to hear from you, Bill. To my knowledge, I am one heartbeat away from being the patriarch of the descendants of my great-grandfather. There are a few young ladies that have a few years on me, but I have at least five or six years on all of the gents. I should actually see if the same applies to the descendants of my g-g-grandfather, Samuel Williams.
