Every once in awhile, when I need an extra jolt of adrenaline before the coffee's done brewing, I go over to Energy in Depth to see their latest offerings. I'm never disappointed.
This morning, once again, I didn't have to read too far to find yet another outright lie. This time, it was in this post. Specifically:
"Of course, that non-discovery wasn’t all that significant in a geological sense: scientists, engineers and even EPA administrators have long known that the thousands of feet and billions of tons of impermeable rock that separate deep oil and gas formations from shallow water formations make it virtually impossible for such migration to occur. "
I won't beat this to death, but for those who haven't been visiting too long, check out this post from a few years back.
Trust me folks, I know who visits this blog. If any part of that post was fabricated or changed from the original email string, I would have been receiving all kind of threats of possible litigation.
To date: ZERO.
Dr. Terry Engelder is considered to be one of the leading experts on the planet regarding Marcellus Shale. The NGI folks quote him all the time. In his own words:
