Hacking, Fracking, and the search for the Truth

Folks...there were some serious attempts over the past 48-72 hours to hack my laptop and/or blog. My anti-virus program picked up some almost non-stop "intrusion" activity the likes of which I've never seen before.

EVER.

Anyway...so far, it appears the software is holding its own and was well worth the price.

As of today, I'm hearing from a variety of sources that the DEP and/or Chesapeake are claiming the muck in the videos above is naturally occurring sediment...repeat:  naturally occurring sediment that has been pushed to the surface by methane migration.

Sorry folks, but that dog just don't hunt in these woods. Period.

I'm posting the additional pics below from my visit to the site on Saturday.

Above: If this is just sediment...why the flags? ( Placed by DEP )
Below: And why the (flimsy) barriers to keep the cows out?

Below: This is the path the cows use to get to the creek to drink.

Below: This is some vegetation that has been sprayed with, umm, sediment.

Now...follow me on the pic below. My camera is being held directly above the leaf in the pic above.

In the pic below, you can see the orange fenced-in area where the, umm, natural sediment is quivering like loose pudding. The young lady next to the tree is there for perspective.  So...when this hotspot in the creek erupted, the spray pattern shows there were rocks, mud and who know what else ejected a minimum of 25 feet or more in all directions.

Sound like an everyday event to you? Sound like migrating methane a half a mile or more from the nearest well can erupt with such force?

And if it can...where else did it migrate?

Below: A pic taken from the middle of the spot I was standing in the videos. Look at the difference in the bottom of the streambed above the fence vs. below.  Rocks, rocks and more rocks...and then, umm, naturally occurring sediment several feet deep that shakes like pudding.

I don't have the time tonight to document all I saw and heard on my one-day, 350 mile round trip visit to Bradford County. What I saw and experienced tells me that there was a massive eruption, blowout or whatever you want to call it at the location in the videos. Something, and I've been told that one of the industry folks admitted it was fracking, caused a great deal of pressure to build until it found the point of least resistance...which happened to be this small tributary of Towanda Creek.

Something in the drilling/fracking process failed...and failed terribly.

Somewhere out there is a video of this exact spot in full eruption. I will simply ask, once again and for the final time, that this person do the right thing and release it. To anyone...but release it, please.

BTW - to the folks at the DEP: Please provide copies of the results of the testing you've obviously performed on the muck in this stream that would allow you to claim it's just naturally occurring sediment. And since, as a citizen of the commonwealth of PA, you and the Governor work for me...consider it an order.

P.S.: Thanks to everyone who helped me on Saturday. Based upon the traffic, comments and requests received so far, we have caught the attention of many.

Finally...I did get a chance to enjoy a more pleasant moment on my way home.
