The Susquehanna River Basin Commission has posted a news release which you can read here.
So, the leaders of the two agencies ultimately responsible ( yet somehow not accountable ) for protecting the overall health of the Susquehanna River are leaving their posts in 2013. PA DEP Secretary Michael Krancer will be gone in a few weeks, and SRBC Executive Director Paul Swartz will be retiring in November.
I have no doubt whatsoever that the natural ga$ indu$try will be inten$ley lobbying to en$ure their replacement$ will continue to $upport the ongoing and profane de$ecration of the environment in the Marcellu$ $hale zone in the years to follow.

Golly, in this economy it might be hard for these retirees to get by, even on a government pension. I wonder if there might be some industry that would be willing to offer jobs to these folks. I'll bet we haven't seen the last of them.
ReplyDeleteDBE: Krancer is leaving to chair an energy-related practice group at Philly law firm Blank Rome. He will probably quadruple his income and leverage his NGI contacts to the hilt. I believe Paul Swartz is retiring, but is still young enough to do some consulting if it's lucrative. Time will tell.
